Actually it looks like quite safe competition and everybody including animals have fun ( or animals are good actors ). The only really dangerous part, but more for the bull rider is bull break in. All - cowboy/girl and calf ( sometimes young bull) start from the same point at the same time and they have to do everything as fast as possible:
- horse rider has to catch the small band which is on the calf back;
- horse rider has to catch calf on the lasso;
- two cowboys has to catch calf on the lasso, one for head one for the leg at the same time;
- cowboy has to jump on the young bull ( catching horns ) from the horse and topple it over;
- cowboy has to catch bull on the lasso, topple it over and tied 3 legs together;
- fast horse slalom;
- and bull break in… no comments;
Arena is very safe, something like 10-15 cm of sand mixed with sawdust, and you can believe or not but all animals even young ones knowing very well what is expected and how they should react. Some of them are very smart and cowboys have a real problem to catch them, some of them give up when they don’t see any chances, etc. Generally we were very positively surprised.

Hey! Looks so great your trip so far! Actually, Rus and myself have found the blog really interesting and really funny. It's given us a lot of smiles! We love the pics - the colourful parrot on Ewa's head is a brilliant picture. One to frame when (if) you get home one day... I think you may well become travelling hippies and Pawel, you'll grow a really long beard and get your hair in rasta dreadlocks. Can't wait for the next instalment. Glad the rodeo cows were ok and just very good actors :o)
