So we have just finished our short holiday in Yeppoon… thanks to friends living here we could stay at the superb house with the beautiful sea view, had our own bed with breakfast, lunch and dinner included , excellent home atmosphere just amazing , THANKS ! We passed the tropic of Capricorn at Rockhampton so we are not in the tropical zone any more. You can believe or not but it’s really visible and noticeable after first 100km from the tropic, more green colours everywhere and not +40C anymore ( 26-29C day and 14-16C at night brrr ) . At our first stop after we left Yeppoon at Harvey Bay we were convinced to take a catamaran boat and see Humpback Whales. Honestly they didn’t need much time to convince us as it’s like a ‘must do thing’ when you are here in October. Amazing experience, we saw several mothers with young generation swimming close to our boat, it’s really a big ‘fish’.
Have you ever seen 70 different sand colors at one beach ? If not than you have to visit Rainbow Beach part of Cooloola – Great Sandy National Park. I was a little skeptical about it , but it’s really true, please have a look at photos. Amazing , just walking on the beach ( 4x4 owners can drive, but not faster than 80km/h ) you can see all possible colours mixing in the sea, before they are really separated and flow like a waterfall(s).
As we like wild life we stayed one day more and see dolphins in the morning . It’s the next amazing story. Something like 30 years ago people from Tin Can Bay ( small fishing harbour ) helped dolphin attacked by shark. 10 days after he left the safe bay dolphin arrived again to say ‘thank you’ and since then it’s the 3 generation of the same dolphin’s family visiting harbour every morning between 7.30 and 8.30, can you imagine ? It’s two of them now, father and son, they swim 50cm from you , but they are still wild so you can not touch them .
At the local movie theatre today, interesting experience as it was 10 viewers all together and the hall ( room ? ) was almost full .

I am romanticising on travelling now, so much more than I ever did. Your trip is amazing and beautiful! will you ever stop the travelling lifestyle, now that you've found it and you're both enjoying it so much..... life's so short and you're doing the right thing! loved the pics, loved that Ewa has carved 'Pawel Ewa Polska' in the sand. What a fantastic blog - can't wait for the next update! Emma and Rus x
