End of the stone age, back to the paradise

Finally we have arrived to Maumere. Time has stopped at Flores for sure, it was a great experience for both of us. Last night we spent at something they call - beach resort , hmmm… we fight against mosquitoes all night (walls were made from the bamboo – a lot of holes), we couldn’t find a cook to get our included breakfast and finally our booked transfer to the airport didn’t arrive at 5.30 in the morning so we had to wake up all locals we could find. They found a small delivery van and driver in the pajama who didn’t speak English. As we have two hands and can imitate plane with propeller ( Fokker 100 this time ) … we were at the airport on time . Two hours flight with one stop at Sumba ( big surprise for us as it was not mentioned at our tickets – this time only seat numbers no names at all ) and we are back to Bali. Agreed car ( Toyota, 22$ per day without driver ! ) waited for us at the airport. New country and the new driving experience, traffic almost like in India, no rules, no road sign, no good maps, but friendly people showing you the right way ( or what they think is the right way ). We are at the small resort in Ubud now. Our cottage is located in the magic garden, we can see the rice fields from the balcony, we have white bedding and hot water … life is good. Ubud is a lovely small town with the old temples, monkey sanctuary, local dance shows and excellent restaurants. Our recovery is going well. We plan drive around Bali next couple of days.
